Position: Consultant for Developing Guidance on Gender-Disaggregated Supply Chain Data

We are seeking an experienced consultant or consultancy to develop a practical and comprehensive guidance document for suppliers on the collection and use of gender-disaggregated supply chain data. The consultant/consultancy must have strong expertise in data systems, gender equality in supply chains, and experience working with garment factories, particularly in India.
Purpose of the Consultancy
The consultant/consultancy will:
- Develop a business case for suppliers on the importance and benefits of gender-disaggregated data for effective Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) and business performance.
- Provide actionable guidance for suppliers on building systems and processes to collect, analyze, and use gender-disaggregated data.
- Offer practical steps on how suppliers and brands can work together to improve transparency, buyer-supplier relationships, and working conditions.
This guidance will build on learnings from a pilot project in Tamil Nadu, India, and will serve as a critical resource for improving supplier capacity and advancing gender-responsive HRDD in the garment sector.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with ETI to agree on the framework and methodology for the guidance document.
- Conduct research and draw on findings from the pilot project in Tamil Nadu.
- Draft a clear, practical, and user-friendly guidance document tailored to suppliers.
- Incorporate feedback from ETI and its partners to refine and finalize the document.
- Deliver the final document (maximum 20 pages) by 14 March 2025.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience working with garment factories and supply chains, particularly engaging with factory management.
- Expertise in gender equality, women’s empowerment, and gender-disaggregated data collection in supply chains.
- Proven ability to develop practical, business-focused guidance documents or tools, ideally for the garment sector.
- Strong analytical and writing skills with attention to detail.
- Project management experience, including meeting tight deadlines and effective communication.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
Contract Details
- Type: Consultancy contract
- Payment: Fees will be agreed upon in advance, with payment made upon satisfactory completion of deliverables.
- Timeline: February to March 2025
