Position: Consultant – Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Advisor, STITCH Programme India

We are seeking an experienced consultant to lead the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) activities for the STITCH Programme in India. The consultant will oversee the programme's MEL processes, including project management, activity tracking, quality assurance, and risk oversight. Additionally, the consultant will contribute to the programme’s final evaluation and reporting, ensuring that impact is effectively demonstrated.
Purpose of the Consultancy
The consultant will:
- Provide MEL support to the STITCH Programme by working with project managers in the UK and India to set measurable goals, monitor progress, evaluate impact, and capture learning.
- Oversee and manage ETI’s data repository for STITCH Programme, ensuring lessons learned, successes, and challenges are well-documented and used to develop case studies, reports, and policy papers.
- Promote learning and best practice sharing across STITCH consortium members by facilitating forums, organising events, and contributing to workshops.
- Work with external consultants conducting the end-line evaluation of the STITCH Programme, ensuring alignment with ETI’s MEL frameworks.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including ETI members, STITCH consortium partners, businesses, civil society, trade unions, and government representatives, to enhance programme learning and impact.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a monitoring and evaluation role within an international development or global commercial organisation.
- Strong expertise in MEL frameworks, with proficiency in both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis.
- Experience in designing and implementing MEL strategies to track impact effectively.
- High-level analytical, strategic-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in conducting and commissioning research for programme evaluation and reporting.
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.
- Sound understanding of labour rights, working conditions in global supply chains, and gender mainstreaming in MEL systems.
- Proficiency in IT and data management, including handling large datasets and using analytical tools for research and reporting.
Contract Details
- Type: Consultancy contract
- Remuneration: Daily rate of Rs. 10,000 – Rs. 15,000, depending on experience.
- Duration: 12 days per month until December 2025
