Together with over 40 different stakeholders from the business community, financial sector, NGOs and trade unions, we have joined forces and sent a letter to EU policymakers. We call on EU negotiators to reach a political agreement on the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD).
This multistakeholder statement comes at the end of a four-year legislative process, throughout which businesses, industry associations, trade unions, civil society organisations, and various stakeholder groups have engaged with policymakers to inform the discussions. While we hold diverging views, we are aligned in recognising the necessity of a common EU-wide legal framework as part of a smart and coherent mix of policy and legislative measures.
This EU legislation constitutes a pivotal opportunity for setting a common European standard for responsible business conduct.
